FAST schema editor is a graphical tool to view and modify FAST schemas (templates) in QWFIX Enterprise Manager.
The QWFIX Enterprise Manager manages all Fast schemas in the repository. A schema contains the FAST SCP 1.1 templates is automatically installed upon the installation of a new instance of QWFIX Repository Server.
Note: Users should not directly modify the standard FAST SCP schemas.
One of the main purposes of FAST protocol is to optimize the delivery of FIX messages, which is also the original purpose. Later on the FAST protocol has been generalized to apply to a wider set of protocols.
In reality, lots of FAST applications uses FAST messages that are directly derived from FIX messages. So it is natural for QWFIX enterprise to provide optimized GUI tool to help user compose FAST message templates from the FIX schema.
In the following chapters we will walk through features of FAST schema editor in QWFIX Enterprise Manager.
